The table saw motor is still in transit, so I'm patiently waiting it out. As if I had a choice. This is incredibly frustrating and has made me realize what a crucial part of my making world includes the use of that little saw. The good news is it's a lot lighter now, which helped me mount it on the new mobile base.
I tried and tried and tried to get that damned set screw out of the pulley wheel. I purchased a new set of heads for the rechargeable drill. Nope. I even tried to superglue an Allen wrench in the set screw (yes, I was that desperate). Nope. Nothing I tried worked, so I packed up the motor and sent it to Grizzly - in Pennsylvania. Yeah, Pennsylvania.
I hope it enjoys its visit to the East Coast, but please, oh, please, little motor, come back home soon.
I miss you.
Until next time...

Project Update: Case Wood Procured
Well, the table saw is still in a state of disrepair. Grizzly ended up sending me a $60 gift certificate, but only after I described how I could not get the pulley wheel set screw out to repair the saw and intended to put it back together for regular use and that they would be liable for any injuries incurred. Of course, they asked me all the obvious questions because, you know, I don't really know what I'm doing - Allen/hex wrenches and set screws are terribly complicated things.
The result of all this is that I've procured the poplar and pine for the case, yet cannot cut the pieces to size because the table saw motor is in transit to be repaired by the crack Grizzly technicians - or is it the Grizzly technicians on crack? I always get that part mixed up. Regardless, I've got lots of wood and nothing to do with it until the saw is 100% again. Until then, please enjoy these photos of poplar and clear pine boards (yes, that's a bottle of Pusser's sitting on the poplar boards).

Project Update: A Little Down Time
I'm taking a little down time to work on the table saw and, frankly, it's just too hot to do much in the shop, especially gluing up the bentside. I tried to get the motor pulley wheel installed last night, but I couldn't seem to find the correct Allen (hex) wrench and it was bloody hot, so I'll pick it back up later today. Here's the current state of the saw and the part I'm installing:
I must admit this whole experience has been a little frustrating. First, I had to wait nearly two months from the initial warning to not use the saw to receive the replacement parts from Grizzly, then, I can't get the set screw out. Of course, I'll figure it out, but it was hot and late, so I decided the better part of valor is living to fight another day.
